About Me

I am an animal advocate and rescuer but have particular empathy for feral cats which are euthanized if taken to a municipal shelter and are outside due to human negligence. I practice and support Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR). I served three years on the Seminole County Animal Control Board and volunteered at the county shelter for several years. In 2003 I set up the website floridacatnews.com for the Cat Coalition of Florida, which organized in response to a proposed Florida Fish & Wildlife policy for cats on public land. I served as coordinator, and member groups included CARE, Animal Coalition of Tampa, Operation Catnip, Friends of Campus Cats, Space Coast Feline Network , Cat Network, and Alley Cat Allies. In 2014 I created floridacatnews.blogspot.com which details my experience with low dose megestrol acetate as an edible birth control for cats.
